Volunteers

The United States Bowling Congress has developed a Registered Volunteer Program (RVP) that will impact every person who has contact with young bowlers who participate in USBC youth leagues, tournaments and/ or other programs.

All board members and coaches are required to complete SafeSport training annually and participate in the Registered Volunteer Program, which has a 2-year renewal requirement.  All adult members are also required to complete SafeSport training in any event where youth are rostered for participation.

USBC AND SAFESPORT
In 2012, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement launched the SafeSport program to improve athlete safety across the U.S. Olympic Committee’s (USOC) 47 sport National Governing Bodies (NGBs). Since its adoption, the program has provided education and prevention resources related to emotional, physical and sexual misconduct, including bullying, hazing and harassment.

To further the mission of SafeSport and provide more comprehensive services, in 2017 the U.S. Center for SafeSport opened in Denver, Colorado. The Center serves athletes of all types and all competitive levels, extending its reach far beyond the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
